Meme:Spot the pattern
Stolen from girlofavalon 'coz it sounds fun and seems like a nice way to keep me busy here.

List fifteen of your favorite characters from different fandoms, and ask people to spot patterns in your choices, and if they're so inclined, to draw conclusions about you based on the patterns they've spotted.

1.Frodo Baggins(Lotr)
2.Samwise Gamgee(Lotr)
3.Anakin Skywalker(Darth Vader)(Star Wars)
4.Luke Skywalker(Star Wars)
5.Han Solo(Star Wars)
6.Fitzwilliam Darcy(Pride and Prejudice)
7.Captain Jack Sparrow(POTC)
8.Harry Potter(Harry Potter)
9.Draco Malfoy(Harry Potter)
10.Lord Voldemort(Harry Potter)
11.Bellatrix Lestrange (Harry Potter)
12.Louis de Pointe du Lac (The Vampire Chronicles)
11.Lestat de Lioncourt (The Vampire Chronicles13)
14.Charlie Pace(Lost)
15.James Sawyer Ford(Lost)

Bonus five

1.Anne Shirley(Anne of Green Gables)
2.Gilbert Blythe(Anne of Green Gables)
3.Marilla Cuthbert(Anne of Green Gables)
4.Matthew Cuthbert(Anne of Green Gables)
5.Casey Connor(The Faculty)

So, have you noticed any pattern(s)? If yes, what was it/were they, and what would you say the pattern(s) you've identified could say about me? I confess I am rather curious ;)

Oh yes I do love the misunderstood villain and the flawed hero.

Yes you got that right nobody is perfect and we are all flawed in some ways.

Also what are movies without the bad guys in it? One giant snoze fest :)

I really like the actor who played Mr.Darcy so much I just like him.

Villians in a movie are like grooms at a wedding--unfortunately necessary to the plot...

I can only talk about SW, HP, P&P, POTC and Vampire Chronicles, and I kinda agree with drarryxlover.

I am curious what you'd have to say about mine ;)

I’m pants at finding patterns, so I’m skipping the basic question, but I had to weigh in on the Darcy question.

The Colin Firth version of P&P was the first time Mrs B and I saw him and we thought he was awful. In fact we thought the whole thing was pretty awful. The stupid lake business, the gratuitous bath, a Darcy who doesn’t seem so much proud as disgusted, a Lady Catherine who looks merely mean-spirited, a Caroline Bingley who would have trouble convincing even herself she had a countenance that might attract a man like Darcy; an Elizabeth who looks like a witty thought never crossed her mind, and Jane—oh, Jane: the casting director obviously interpreted the words “prettiest girl in the neighbourhood” as meaning “with a face like a horse”. So I have no respect for that one.

The scriptwriter in the Keira Knightley version had a similar problem with the English language. “Darcy called on Elizabeth at the Collinses’ cottage” becomes “the two idiots both go out for a quiet stroll in the park in the pouring rain with nary an umbrella in sight”. So I have no respect for that one.

Now the David Rintoul version, which no one ever mentions, has a Darcy who would spit in Lady Catherine’s face as soon as dive into a lake with his clothes on, a Lady Catherine who looks proud and haughty, a Caroline with a certain prettiness that fades as she becomes snide, an Elizabeth whose wit sparkles in her eyes, and a Jane who is completely convincing as the prettiest girl in the neighbourhood. This is (and seems likely to remain) our favourite adaptation.

I have never seen the version with Colin in it so it could have been awful.

I should watch the David Rintoul version it seems.

I have only watched the older Laurence Olivier version myself.

Laurence Olivier! From the moment Greer Garson shows up in her hoop skirt to the point where Lady Catherine shows she's just an old softie at heart, it's hard to stop laughing!

(About Colin Firth--everyone else seems to hold it as the standard against which all other productions must be measured. So it's either a quirk of Mrs B's and mine, or it's that nobody's ever seen the earlier one the two of us like.)

Ahhh yes Greer Garson oh that and so much of it made me laugh.

If you want some fantastic acting with Colin in it watch A Single Man he should have won the Oscar for that role or The King's Speech were he did win.

I also adore Colin in the funny Bridget Jones movies and I adore Hugh Grant to pieces.
