Raving over a Classic Wuthering Heights!
I think it's time I re watch the brilliance of Wuthering Heights. It's been to long and talking of things that make you cry the end speech of Heathcliff to Cathy as he stands over her is just so romantic, heartbreaking and creepyish. But to have someone feel for you what he feels for her most men would roll their eyes but I melt inside at these words...

Be with me always. Take any form, drive me mad, only do not leave me in this dark alone where I cannot find you."

"I cannot live without my life! I cannot die without my soul!"

This is just shiver worthy for me.

Also Laurence Olivier was so young and gorgeous in this film. What a heartthrob :)

I agree and no one was more beautiful than a young Laurence in his day.

Of coarse I also say that about a young Tony Curtis who is right next to him in looks. They are both in the Dictonary under beauty :)

I read a book about Vivien Leigh years ago. She was married to Laurence Olivier at one time, but they divorced. She had a lot of emotional issues and died fairly young of tuberculosis (I think she was about 55 when she died). It was tragic.

I used to read a lot of books about the old, classic movie stars. It was magic. Olivier was gorgeous and extremely talented, I agree.

I read a book or something were Laurence said they had 20 years of marraige 10 were heaven and 10 were hell.

Some of the hell for Vivien was that her husband paraded his male lovers all over the place and brought them home. Discrecion was not his thing I guess.
