Abandoned brilliant stories!
Well I'm in a weird nostalgic mood and remembering some of the brilliant and amazing fics I have read over the years that got abandoned. You know the ones that were so amazing and wonderful you still hope for the miracle that one day it would get picked up again but you are doubtful about it ever happening. I realize rl happens and pairings change and it does for some but not usually with me so I'm sure I'm the weird one. My OTP's have stayed my OTP's for LOTR's Domlijah 5 years and for HP Draco/Harry 4 years.

Of coarse I have read and written many other pairings and stumbled on more hotness in each of these fandoms over the years.

Here is a small list I remember off of the top of my head that makes me leary of starting new unfinished stories. These are soooooo good that I have thought about these often and still feel a pang of disappointment. These authors should feel honored that they were that brilliant. I have a lousy memory.

bahama_breeze77 When World's Collide Viggo/Orlando Dark,Twisted and fantastic.

deleerium Cowboy Orlando/Elijah I have read and read this over and over and it never stops being brilliant.

geniousartistWhat Nourishes Us? (Maybe that's the title) Dom/Elijah with Karl. Karl is evil and after Elijah to kill him and Dom is on his way to find Elijah(Who is hiding in a attic) and save him. I was hooked with this and it was abandoned after 9 chapters I believe.

cat_luvs_guysx2 Indian Summer Dom/Elijah One of the best Domlijah writers ever.

loki_girl Carnivale Orlando/Elijah Brilliant werewolf Elijah fic!

lucky_jack The Year of the God's Dom/Elijah Elijah is Dom's captive and has a small son. He has to wear dresses and at first they just tolerate each other but soon come to mean more than they should. Insanely fantastic story!

luvnorli Perfection Is A Lie Orlando/Elijah I could almost cry over this one it was that brilliant and also scary and sad. Elijah's life isn't perfect at all but terrible because of his perverted step-father.

So see stories I like really stick with me and I have some I hope won't get abandoned that I'm hooked on now!

Edit:I just noticed all of these but one have to do with Elijah...I guess it's all about him. LOL

OMGs, that happens to me ALL the time. I find these great stories, and they're like eons old, and of course don't get updated anymore :(

Oh and there are some in HP fandom to that have gone by the wayside. It's sad! :(

Damn it, I feel bad now. It was 'The Year of the Gods' actually, but thank you for remembering it. I doubt very much it will ever be finished as I've moved away from LOTR, but I do still think about it a lot and it was my personal fav. Who knows...maybe one day.

Hey hon! Sorry it has been so long since I have been around, but I do pop in and glimpse my flist every once in a while, even if I don't always comment.
But.... I just had to comment on this.

First, let me thank you for the compliment. I don't quite agree that I am one of the best DomLijah writers (as I have read the best), but I always took pleasure in the writing fandom and appreciated every comment left by a reader.

As for "Indian Summer"... it has not been abandoned. In fact, I have been working on it again (thanks to those new pics of Dom/Lij together recently) and have 2 more completed chapters. I always planned on finishing it, but the motivation and inspiration left me.
It bothered me not having it completed, so I have been working on it for my own satisfaction, but I honestly thought that most readers had lost interest, forgotten about it or just given up.

But I will happily post again if anyone is still interested. Thanks again for the kind words. ((HUGS))

Ahhh you can't see how more than brilliant of a writer you are and yay for me being wrong on it being adandoned. I'm more than ready for a update and you are as good as saura_ and that is a high compliment coming from me it's hard to be as good as her or salwood :)

I understand about inspiration leaving it's tough sometimes. *hugs you* and squeeees over upcoming chapters!

It's a royal pain in the arse when that happens.

There is one particular fic on CM that hasn't been updated in over 12 months and it's right at a crucial part! *grrrr*

When I write i try and have the fic finished before I post it. But that plan went out the window with my current snarry wip. But i'm ahead of the game, I said I would update once a month and I have the next two chapters written or partially written.

Yes that is why I enjoy mostly only writing one shots or drabbles nothing to leave abandoned. I have some I'd like to continue with someday but no pressure really *hugs*

I agree with your choices. Particularly Indian Summer by my special SK..What Nourishes Us...and The Year of the Gods. These all killed me with their brilliance and then...*sniff*
We share good taste. You have no idea the shameless begging I have done. xoxoxoxo v

What Nourishes Us was at some crucial cliffhanger with Elijah hidding as Karl went looking for him to probably kill him *shivers* I felt his fear in the attic as he was hiding and then it ended. *pouts*

Of coarse we share good taste we have a mutual love and adoration of Elijah and Dom LOL ohg and I'd beg if I thought it would do any good. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Here's my e-mail address hun if you ever want to drop me a line amy_gillam@sbcglobal.net

Hey did you see my Froday post with a bunch of Elijah and Dom pics oh and the hot drabble of them that I posted also? Lots of Domlijah goodness from me today Happy Froday :)

I meant to post this morning and had to go get ready. I LOVED it! Didn't read yet though. I am trying to catch up and get pumped. Work and kids take all my time anymore. I almost wrote the same exact thing you did except that each story was at a crucial point. In IS...Sky was paralized and barely escaped dying and Dom had to leave to go back to the forte. In Year of the Gods, Elijah realized he loved Dom and Dom's sacrifices for his son to return to him. It broke my heart.
In WNU...OMFGod! She left us with the red flag as a warning to his childhood friend Charlie out the window. Dom and Viggo realized that Elijah was in danger and something wasn't right. Elijah was suffering. He knew he would die. I have met geniousartist. She is lovely and I begged her to continue. We are not the only ones who loved it. Unfortunately she didn't. She is on Insanejournal. Go bug the crap outa her. I gave up. Read all her stuff...it is incredible.
hugs you girlie! xoxoxoxo v

That might have been it but I lurked around for years before I got an account. I also hit other lj's but didn't leave comments but I could have easily missed hers.
