Gorgeous actors and a rant of sorts :)
I thought I'd post some of my favorite actors of older hollywood these men were all tall, dark and handsome. After reading about them in their biographies I realized just how miserable they all were most of their lives some even alcoholics all because of Hollywood's hypocrisy. They were all gay or bi but had to keep it a secret so they wouldn't loose their careers. Heaven forbid they just live their lives and do whatever they want to. It's been that way since the silent films and I don't see it ever changing for actors.

Do any of you see Hollywood ever changing? I'm just curious. It's sad to because not all (of coarse) but a lot of actors are gay or bi and still feel trapped. Enough of my rant I just get so sad reading their biographies I should just stop reading those books.

I adore Archie. lol. Carey Grant that is.

Let me see if I can get my thoughts straight & my point across. The above poster pointed it out also. The prevailing attitude is that a gay man is somehow weak & therefore not 'manly' enough (whatever that means) to be a leading actor, action hero, etc. Homosexuality is not a disease that can be caught nor are there any 'gay adendas'. It's a way of life for them as heterosexuality is a way of life for others. (sorry, preaching to the choir.) As far as Hollywood changing it already has - and for the much worse. If you watch any of the old award shows the people are dressed immaculately and behave in a civil manner vs. people showing up 1/2 naked, inebriated, mouthy, etc. as they do today. It was actually news if a star acted out instead of expected as it is now. Also, we did not know every last aspect of their lives. There was still an air of mystery surrounding them. Any air of mystery surrounding Brangelina? Personally, I have no respect for those 2.

Hollywood likes to see itself as the trend setter. The only trend I see it setting is an excess of excess. I can only liken it to the hedonistic days of Rome before it fell.

You are right Hollywood has changed for the worse not better by any means and yes Carey Grant is the hotest man *yummy* At least he was happy for awile unlike some of the other stars when he lived with Randolph Scott for 15 years he was never happier. They got together some after that until they died. His biography was very interesting. A waiter saw two men holding hands at a resturant talking and laughing at 80 years of age. Awwww so sweet!!!

Hmmm I wonder if those two were ever shlashed?
